Each flower bore a different hue,
and their fragrance travelled for miles.
The jasmine bites the lip of the rose,
and the meadow cuts the tongue of the Arghavan.

Persian Garden, coloured pencil and collage
on Paper, 72-52 cm, private collection,
Paper Moon was a solo exhibition at Galleria Pio Monti in Rome in October 2012.
The exhibition consisted of six artworks inspired by Persian miniatures, where beauty and peace often coexist with cruelty.
The title was based on the lyrics of the song , which was played during the exhibition recorded by several remarkable jazz musicians.
The show was warmly received by both the public and the press. Documentation is available upon request.
“… A man in oriental attire is depicted with a towering flower like a banner of passion, and an airplane becomes less threatening as it flies over a page illuminated with vegetal interlacing and Persian script, splendid, joyful decorations evoking a country that was once an enchanted garden and has become a battleground of religious, political, and social conflicts …”
- From the critical text by Paola Ugolini
